Department of Archeology

This Department collects finds of archeological researches carried on in the whole area of Opolian Silesia. A valuable assemblage are relics orginating from the Stone Age: stone and flint tools and objects made of bone. Extensively documented are teh Bronze Age and the Iron Age due to the abundance of the ceramics of the Lusatian and Pomeranian cultures. A numerous group of exhibits constitute objects derived from archeological researches conducted in the burial grounds of the period of Roman influences (tools, weapon, metal and glass ornamentation).
